In Cap Skring we did a small trip to a Djola museum. The djola is he biggest ethnie in this part of Senegal and they have their own customs. One of them was to put women and children in between the plank roots of the fromagier tree during raids by other villages. Once between the roots, it was commonly agreed that one could not attack these people. Also, the trees were used by fettisheurs (voodoo doctors) for fortune telling and charm making.  Posted by Picasa
