Sunset at the border of the river Obangui, Bangui, Central Africa, where I was conducting a workshop on land degradation. With a team of 5 local consultants, I was writing a proposal for GEF funding. Very intersting.

This is the bar where we had a drink the first evening to discuss the work programme I drafted.

A Dancing group was providing the necessary song and dance, the beer was cold and the weather nice. What a way to spend your cold december month.

Dusty roads in Bangui. During an excursion, I got an insight in the dangers of land degradation. The roads are unprotected, so everytime a car passes, it disperses valuable topsoil all over. Women and men are selling fuelwood along the road.
